Registering on Books4Niners.com is simple and free. Just go to the registration page and supply the requested information. All of this information will be kept private. You will be asked to tell us your desired username, password, school email, first name, last name, address, phone number, and your current major. When you click submit, you have an account and you can start buying and selling on the website. Very easy. Once you have your account set up, you can always edit information by going to My Account. Here, you will be able to specify which information you want to be visible to other users. Remember: All visitors can see what is being sold but if they are not logged in as users, they will not be able to see who is selling the item. Therefore, only registered users will be able to see the information you have chosen to be available. Once you have found something you would like to buy on the website, click on it to see more details and the seller's contact information. This information will only be visible if you are logged in as a registered user. As long as you are logged in, you will be able to see how to contact the seller. You can do this by phone or email. This website does not a part of the transaction process. It is up to the buyer and seller to agree on how to make the transaction. Usually, you can just email or call the seller and easily set up a convenient time and place to meet up.
There are many benefits that come with selling your books on Books4Niners.com. First of all, students will usually pay you much more for your used books than the local bookstore will. This way, you get more money for your used books and the other student gets the books for cheaper. Also, you can try to sell as many books as you like. There is no posting fee so you have nothing to lose. To start selling, just click on the Books - Sell button on the homepage or click here. Provide a few details on the book you wish to sell and click Submit. You can sell your books for as much as you want. Uploading a picture of the book cover will help potential buyers know exactly what book is being sold. We recommend keeping these uploaded pictures under 2 megabytes. The more information you provide, the better the potential buyer can make his/her decision. Once you click submit, your book will be put on the 'shelves' so other students can see it. Good luck!
Buying stuff on the Yard Sale page is very similar to buying books. It works the same way. To find stuff you want, look on the left side of the window. Under Yard Sale, you can either search for a key word like 'playstation' or you can break down the items available by category, like 'Furniture'. When you find something you want, click on it to see more information and find out how to contact the seller. You can only see the seller's contact information if you are logged in as a registered user. You can contact the seller by email or phone.
Only registered users will be able to list stuff for sale at the Yard Sale. If you are a member, you can sell anything you want, for free! Just click on Yard Sale - Sell to start selling your stuff, or click here. There is no limit as to how much stuff members can list for sale. We plan to keep it that way as long as no one abuses this privilege. Posting any type of illegal items is strictly prohibited. If any such items are discovered, we will terminate the member's membership and contact the proper authorities.
Student Events - Posting Student Events We encourage all students to use this free method of advertising events to other students. If you know of a student event coming up (Concert, Poetry Reading, Rush Meeting, etc.), we will be more than happy to post it in the Student Events section so that other students will be aware of the event. To post an event, visit the Events section or click here. Scroll down to the form and fill it out. Just let us know a few details about the event and we will post it as soon as possible.
